Spinal Cord Injury Stem Cell Treatment Enters Clinical Trials.

A new treatment aims to treat spinal cord injuries by injecting stem cells into the spinal cord.

A medical team from the University of Calgary is now recruiting candidates to participate in the phase one clinical trial for a new stem cell therapy that aims to treat spinal cord injuries.  The researchers plan to inject stem cells into the spinal cord two sites above and two sites below the point of injury to recreate lost or damaged tissue.

Currently, as many as 500,000 people suffer from disabling spinal cord injuries each year. Although this study is still in its early stages, further clinical research for this stem cell therapy could pave the way for personalized treatments to repair the damage caused by spinal cord injuries.

As stem cell based regenerative treatments emerge, the best source of stem cell will be your own. Stem cells can be recovered from your teeth – where they reside within the dental pulp of baby teeth, wisdom teeth and permanent teeth.  To learn more about emerging regenerative therapies and to learn how to bank your own valuable stem cells, visit StemSave or call 877-783-6728 (877-StemSave) today.
